How old does my child need to be to start swim lessons?
We offer swim lessons starting as early as 6 months old, with options for both “Baby and Me” and 15-minute private lessons! For children aged 3 and up, we provide group classes, as well as 15-minute and 30-minute private lessons.
How often do classes start?
Classes are scheduled on an ongoing basis, so you can begin at any time during the month, with tuition prorated accordingly. We schedule classes up to a week in advance—when you’re ready to start, simply give us a call, and we’ll find a class day and time that works for you!
How do you schedule lessons?
Lessons are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability. Monthly tuition is due on the first of the month and is based on a 4-week month. If you have a payment method on file, we will automatically reserve your class day and time for the following month and re-enroll your student each month unless you request otherwise.
For those interested in individual classes, we are happy to schedule fewer than a month’s worth of lessons, but we cannot guarantee your class day and time beyond the purchased classes.
Can I try a lesson before signing up?
Yes! We offer a free first class for our “Baby and Me” sessions.
For group classes, we provide a free 15-minute one-on-one evaluation lesson to assess your child’s current skill level and place them in the appropriate group. From there, we can help you find a class day and time that fits your schedule.
No evaluation is needed for private lessons, as they are tailored to your individual needs.
How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy! You can click the “Sign Up Now” button on our homepage to enter your information, and we’ll call you to schedule an evaluation. Alternatively, you can call our Torrance location at (310) 325-7946 or our Redondo Beach location at (310) 937-7946, and we’ll assist you in scheduling an evaluation. Once we determine the appropriate level, we can help you find a class day and time that suits your schedule.
What happens if I miss a class?
We understand that things come up, and kids get sick. If you miss a class, you can either call for same-day availability or pre-schedule a make-up class up to one week in advance. Make-up classes can be taken at either our Torrance or Redondo Beach locations, based on availability. Please note that we cannot guarantee the same instructor or class time for make-up sessions. No refunds are given for missed classes, but they do not expire and cannot be applied toward future lesson tuition.
What if my schedule changes or I want to switch instructors?
If your schedule changes or you’d like to switch instructors, you can do so at any time. Simply visit the front desk and ask about alternative times or your preferred instructor’s availability.
How do I cancel lessons?
You can cancel lessons at any time by the end of the month for the following month. To cancel, just stop by the front desk to complete a cancellation form, fill out the form online, or send us a quick email with your student’s name and the effective cancellation date. Please note that there are no refunds, so be sure to cancel before the end of the month!
Can I schedule both my kids at the same time even if they are at different levels of swimming?
Yes, we offer 30-minute semi-private lessons for families with multiple students at different levels. The instructor will split the time between the two students to meet their individual needs.
Can my kids swim in the pools before or after their lesson?
We do not offer practice time before or after lessons. However, we do have a family membership option that includes free swimming time for your kids and family members. We recommend avoiding free swim before lessons to ensure students aren’t tired before their session.
Do you teach adults?
Yes! It’s never too late to learn the life-saving skill of swimming.
